Tuesday 23rd September 2014 - Thursday 25th September 2014

Today we continued with research about jobs in the Performing Arts Industry relating to the backstage of Theatre; looking at the career paths of a backstage role.
We had to look at:
where would you go and train?
what kind of degree would you need?
where would you do it?
what kind of work would you then look for?

Sharron asked us individually what backstage roles would we be interested in doing, I was unsure at first and noticed that when listening to other peoples interest in backstage roles it was usually:
Technical work (operating & designing lighting)
Scenic design
Stage Manager
Costume designer

So while listening I thought about directing because I like observing people and giving suggestions and like to see ideas come to play and thought it would be a good role to look into as no-one else seemed to pick it.
Mario was the only person that picked Casting Director and Elliott chose Choreographer.

As Mario picked Casting Director, Sharron put Director and Casting Director together as they would be working together.  Emma later then joined us as she picked Director.

For the task and to implement a thorough research of our chosen roles, we had to look at:
Education
Experience
Relevant Qualifications
Skills
Responsibilities of that job
Training
Personal Qualities

We had to work in groups of the same role we chose but fill out the chosen role individually to put with our portfolio of Business work.

To help with my research and I began with looking up personal qualities for a director which lead me to:
